You can block access to a particular site or domain on your machine by editing the hosts file in windows xp. i.e c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Open the file with notepad & key in the following format
for eg. to block facebook
0.0.0.0 www.facebook.com
save the hosts file & you will see that the site will not be able to access. to unblock the same add # before the 0. like these you can block various domains so that your machine wont be misused.
