Question / Problem

If you are maintaing a lab, one can't go to each system and install OS and applications it will be a very tidious process and time consuming

Solution

Solution for the above problem is,
                              if you are looking for same OS and applications we can go for 2 solutions
         1) Network booting -
                * dump the OS image and applications required in the APPSERVER  .
                * Configure  BIOS in clients to take up dynamic IP and enable BOOTP or  NETWORK BOOTING.
                * This makes the client to boot and access the applications required.

       2) GHOSTING-
                 * (similar OS)  install the OS and applications required in one system.
                 * remove the harddisk of the desired system where you want to install everything what you had installed in previous system.
                 * Connect this 2nd harddisk to the first system and make it as primary slave or secondary master and the first harddisk will be primary master.
                  * Insert PQmagic cd and Reboot the system
                  * Boot through CD.
                  * Select Ghosting.
                  * Specify the destination and source harddisk and finish.
                  * Within 5 min the second harddisk is ready to use with all the applications as of in the first harddisk.
